Chào anh,
We arrived in Hanoi by a night train this morning. Yes we did it (twice now from Nha Trang to Hoi An the first time), we slept in a train and we didn't have a shower. Can you believe I did that! And I didn't even complain.
Night train are really good fun and you sleep quite well in fact, apart when vietnameses peole decide to have a party with really loud music in the next compartment to yours, but that's a nother story.
Anyway, we left Hoi An to Hue, which a really interesting city as you've got a the residence of the emperor and the remaining building of the forbidden purple city. I can tell u that these people they knew how to live in style. It's breath taking.
We did as well a boat trip on the Perfume River, which can't keep this name anymore cause it smells anything but perfume.
Today, we 're gonna go to a Water puppet show on the Hanoi's Lake (I know I should remember the name of the Lake but I barely remember how to say hello or thank you so don't expect too much of my vietnamese speaking skills).
We're going to leave Hanoi and Vietnam in a few days and we will go to Australia, so if the aussie that we know have any suggestions on what to do in Perth or AliceSpirngs or Sydney, feels free to post your comments.
Matt just remind me that today, it's Margot's birthday...
Happy Birthday Margot, hope you will have a huge chocolate cake for your birthday (think about me when you will eat a huge piece).

Chào anh,
Nous sommes arrives ce matin a Hanoi par train de nuit. Oui nous l'avons fait (deux fois deja en fait, la premiere fois c'etait de Nha Trang a Hoi An), on a dormi dans le train et on a meme pas pris de douche. Moi, j'ai fait ca, j'arrive pas a le croire, et j'ai meme pas rale.
Les trains de nuits, c'est assz marrant en fait et on dort assez bien, a part quand des vietnamiens decidebt de faire la fete avec de la musique traditionelle dans le compartiment d'a cote mais ca c'est une autre histoire.
Bref, pour resume, on a quitte Hoi An pour Hue, qui est une ville tres interessante a decouvrir. Il y a la residence de l'empereur et les vestiges de la Cite interdite poupre. Je peux vous dire que ces gens savaient vivre. C'est a couper le souffle.
On a aussi fait une croisiere sur la riveire des Parfums, qui ne meritent plus son nom vu que ca sent tout sauf le parfum.
Aujourd'hui, nous allons aller voir un spectacle de marionnettes d'eau sur le lac d'Hanoi (je sais je devrais me rappeller du nom mais j'arrive a peine a me rappeller comment dire bonjour et merci donc n'attendez pas trop de moi sur le langage vietnamien) .
Nous allons quitter Hanoi et le Vietnam dans quelques jours et nous partons pour l'Australie donc si les australiens que nous connaissont peuvent nous suggerer des adresses a Perth, AliceSprings ou Sydney, allez y, poster vos commentaires.
Matt vient juste de me rappeller que c'est l'anniversaire de Margot.
Bon anniversaire Margot, j'esper que t'auras un enorme gateau au chocolat pour ton anniversaire (penses a moi quand t'en mangeras une grosse part).

We're broke and it's not my fault - On a plus de sous et c'est pas de ma faute
Hi guys,
We're now in Hoi An and god it's heaven one more time for me and for Matt has well. You can get tailored clothes and we went a little bit crazy, and I'm pleased to say that for once Matt spend more then me as he got 2 suits made. I have to say he looks fantastic. Me, I had 3 dress and 2 pairs of shoes (I had to it was too cheap not too).
Anyway, I had to say that I was a bit disapointed with what we saw in Vietnam, it was not what I was expecting, but now we are in Hoi An, that's really how I imagined Vietnam will be. I guess Saigon was not a typical vietnamese town as it's so huge and crazy. In Hoi An, you feel like at home from wherever you come from, everything is beautiful (and I'm not saying that only because of the tailors everywhere).
The best way to discover this town was to rent a motorcylce and that's what we did today and oh god, I thought we were going to die at least a million times (even if Matt will say that I exacerbate things) and I said at least 3 millions times to Matt that I hated him to do that to me. I asked for a helmet and they were laughing, that just doesn't exist here. Everybody is driving all over the place with no regards for red light or not or stop or whatever road signs you can get. But at the end of the day even if I was so scared that was good fun.
As usual, you can guess that Matt is drinking a beer and I'm updating the blog, but anyway he says hi and that's beer is really good.

Nous sommes maintenant a Hoi An et mon dieu c'est le paradis une fois de plus pour moi et Mathieu aussi. Ici vous pouvez vous faire faire des vetements sur mesures et on s'est un peu laches, mais je suis fiere de vous annoncer que pour une fois c'est Matt qui a plus depense que moi, il s'est fait faire deux costumes. Je dois dire qu'il est super beau dedans. Moi je me suis fait faire 3 robes et 2 paires de chaussures ( je le devais c'etait si peu cher).
Bref, je dois avouer que j'etais un peu decu par ce qu'on avait vu du Vietnam jusqu'a present, ce n'etait pas ce que j'esperais, amis maintenant que nous sommes a Hoi An, c'est vriament comme j'imaginais que le Vietnam serait. J'imagine que Saigon n'est pas la ville typiquement vietnamienne. Tout est si grand et fou. A Hoi An, on se sent comme a la maison de quelques pays qu'on soit, tout est magnifique (et je dis pas seulement ca parce qu'il y a des tailleurs de partout).
La meilleure faconde decouvrur cete ville s'est de louer un moto et c'est ce qu'on a fait aujourd'hui. Mon dieu, j'ai cru qu'on allait mourir au moins un million de fois (meme si Mathieu pense que j'exagere) et j'ai du lui dire au moins 3 millions de fois que je le detestais de me faire ca. J'ai demande un casque et ils ont juste rigole, je crois que ca n'existe pas ici. Tout le monde conduit n'importe ou, n'importe comment sans se soucier des feux rouges ou des stops ou de n'importe quels panneaux de signalisation. Mais bon je dois dire que c'etait assez sympa avec du recul.
Comme d'hab, Matt boit une biere et j'ecris les posts, mais il me charge de vous dire bonjour et que la biere est super bonne.
On espere que vous allez tous tres bien, a tres bientot.

Chuc Mung Nam Moi!
Hi everyone and happy new year !!!
As some people may have started to wonder if I was still alive the answer is yes :) but as you all know i am not as dedicated and good as fanny can be so .... thank to fanny to give you all some news about us. (I hereby confirm being in full posession of means and not having any pressure of any sorts from anyone) ;)
Although I was quite busy over the past few weeks eating my way through singapore, malaysia, thailand, cambodia and now vietnam. So many differents things to try it is just awesome.
I also went through the open water diver certification in thailand and now try to spend a bit of time below water as well (I swam with turtles, a leopard shark and a black tip shark to mention only the biggest ones but it is just great)
Time is just flying by and every country has its own charm so it is a real pleasure to go through and meet the people there.
For the pictures as I know there is a increasing demand from your side your patience will be rewarded. I promise a good all fashionned diaporama when we will be back, don't worry we only have around 700 pictures so far soon we will probably reach 3000 to 5000 pictures by may ....
Joke aparts connexions around here are not what we are calling fast and realiable so uploading picture needs some patience and luck from our side. But as Fanny said we are working on it so pictures soon.
That's all folks. See you in a bit, dragons are calling outside .....

Comme certaines personnes commencent a se poser la question quand a ma presence et savoir si je suis toujours en vie la reponse est oui mais comme vous le savez tous je ne suis pas aussi assidu et bien que fanny a ce sujet la donc .... merci a fanny pour vous donner des nouvelles ( et je dis ca de mon plein gre promis) ;)
J'ai ete pas mal occupe ces dernieres semaines a essayer les differentes specialites culinaires de singapour, malaisie, thailande, cambodge et vietnam. I l y a tellement de choses a essayer c'est tout simplement genial.
J'ai aussi passer ma certification de plongee en thailande et j'essaie maintnant de passer le plus de temps possible sous l'eau aussi ( j'ai eu la chance de nager avec des tortues, un requins leopard et un requin a pointe noire pour juste vous donner les plus gros mais c'est tout simplement genial)
Le temps passe tellement vite et chaque pays a ses propres charmes donc c'est a chaque fois un vrai plaisir de les visiter et de rencontrer et discuter les gens d'ici.
Pour les photos, comme je sais qu'il y a une demande de plus en plus importante de votre cote, votre patience va etre recompense. Je vous promet un bon vieux diaporama quand on revient, on a deja environ 700 photos donc je prevoie environ 3000 a 5000 photos a notre retour, donc preparez le popcorn
Blague a part, les connexions ici ne sont pas des plus rapide et fiables donc uploader des photos prends beaucoup de temps, de patience et de chance de notre cote. Mais comme fanny l'a dit on y travaille et vous les verez bientot. Promis.

As you can guess by the title of this post, we are in Vietnam now. We arrived yesterday in Ho Chi Minh City where (believe me) everything is totally crazy. I guess there is 2 reasons for that. Fisrt one, it's new year eve tonight and second, I think they are just crazy :) There is motorcycle everywhere even on footpath, you have to watch each of your step all the time. Vietnamese mainly eat, drink, play, laugh and shop and let the time goes by. It's really different from Cambodia. Oh yes! A bit of a shock in fact!
Anyway, we're both excited for tonight as it's gonna be party everywhere and food and drink, etc...
We're gonna meet our new group tonight as well. All the people we were travelling with through Cambodia didn't saty with us to do the Vietnamese part. It's quite sad. You start to know people and as you start to become really close they have to leave. Shame... but I guess it's part of the trip.
I'm gonna write only a short post cause guess what Matt is gonna put something on the blog too.

Comme vous pouvez le lire grace au titre du blog, nous sommes au Vietnam (et oui Tof j'ai bien ecoute The End en arrivant). On est arrive hier a Ho Chi Minh Ville ou (croyez moi) tout est completement fou. Je pense qu'il ya deux raisons a ca. La premiere, c'est que ce soir c'est ler eveillon du jour de l'an et la deuxieme c'est qu'ils sont fous :)
Il ya des motos de partout, ils ocnduisent meme sur les trotoirs, on doit faire attention a chaque fois qu'on bouge un petit doigt. Les vietnamiens ont la vie assez cool, en gos, ils boivent, mangent, rigolent et font du shopping et prennent leur temps pour tout.
C'est tres different du Cambodge, c'est d'ailleurs assez surprenant.
Bref, on est assez ecxite car ce soir il va y avoir la fete partout et a boire et a manger., etc...
On va aussi rencontrer notre nouveau groupe. Les gens avec qui nous avons voyage au Cambodge ne reste pas topus avec nous pour le tour au Vietnam. C'est assez triste. Vous commencez a connaitre les gens et a etre proche d'eux et ils doivent partir, mais bon j'imagine que ca fait parti de l'experience du voyage aussi.
Je vais arreter la car miracle Matt veut publier un post !!!

Guess who is in Cambodia? - Devinez qui c'est qui est au Cambodge ?
Hello guys,
We've been in Cambodia for a week already. I know we are really bad not to give more news and thank to all the people who send us e-mail and we didn't have time to reply yet (Farrah, Arvind I swear I will reply).
Anyway, we joined our group who is really international. The name of our guide is Khon. He is 25 years old and speak perfect english and he hides to us that I was understanding french, cheeky!
Our group is composed by canadians (Jennifer and Heather but they don't speak french they are from Vancouver and Alberta), american (Mathilde, Connecticut), australians (Kim and her mum Barbara, and Lisa from Brisbane and Sydney, god there is aussie everywhere), 2 englishs ( Holly and Jason from London and Kent), and one guy from Belgium (Jo) but he doesn't speak french neither. What's wrong with u people, french is such a beautiful language.
Anyway, Cambodia is really amazing and really contrasted as you can guess. All these years of war have left a lot of scarves on the country and on the people.
We've visited the land mine (I will put pictures on the blog). It's unbelievable. A young boy who lost his leg on a mine was telling us his story and that was quite moving.
But even with that, they are so friencly people, they want to know everything about you and practice their english a lot. A few of them still speak french, mostly the oldest. And you can see how beautiful in the architecture it should have been before the war.
So I guess, you're asking why I'm again the one who put a post and Matt is not. Because Mister is scuba diving right now. I was on a boat trip on the Realm National Park. That was beautiful and for lunch we had amazing fish in a fishermen village and trust me, the fish couldn't be more fresh.
I forget to tell u where we are right now. We are in Sihanoukville. It's a city next to the sea, it's really nice, the beach is awesome and the food is gorgeous. We're gonna put on 20 kilos with this trip.
Matt tried spiders. Obviously as you can guess I didn't. He will tell u himself how it was like that he will have to write on the blog.
We're spending a few more days here and we're gonna go to Phnom Phen. And after that we will make our way to Vietnam starting by Ho Chi Minh Ville, even if Matt still calls it Saigon al the time. He is such a colonialist!!!
That's a pretty long post so I finish here. I hope everything is going well for u guys and speak you really soon.

Toutes ces annees de guerre ont laisses beaucoup de cicatrices sur le pays et sur les gens.Nous avons visite le musee des mines anti-personnel (je mettrai des photos sur le blog). C'est incroyable. Un jeune garcon qui a perdu sa jambe sur une mine nous a raconte son histoire et c'etait assez emouvant.
Donc je paris que vous vous demandez pourquoi je suis encore celle qui publie un post et pas Matt. Monsieur est en train de faire de la plongee. Moi je reviens d'une croisiere dans le Parc National Realm. C'etait magnifique et pour le dejeuner on a eu du poisson dans un village de pecheurs, croyez moi il pouvait pas faire plus frais.
J'ai oublie de vous dire ou on est. Nous sommes a Sihanoukville, C'est une ville cotiere, c'est tres jolie, avec de superbes plages et de la bouffe geniale. On va prendre au moins 20 kilos avec ce voyage.

Anyway, we joined our group who is really international. The name of our guide is Khon. He is 25 years old and speak perfect english and he hides to us that I was understanding french, cheeky!
Our group is composed by canadians (Jennifer and Heather but they don't speak french they are from Vancouver and Alberta), american (Mathilde, Connecticut), australians (Kim and her mum Barbara, and Lisa from Brisbane and Sydney, god there is aussie everywhere), 2 englishs ( Holly and Jason from London and Kent), and one guy from Belgium (Jo) but he doesn't speak french neither. What's wrong with u people, french is such a beautiful language.
Anyway, Cambodia is really amazing and really contrasted as you can guess. All these years of war have left a lot of scarves on the country and on the people.
We've visited the land mine (I will put pictures on the blog). It's unbelievable. A young boy who lost his leg on a mine was telling us his story and that was quite moving.
But even with that, they are so friencly people, they want to know everything about you and practice their english a lot. A few of them still speak french, mostly the oldest. And you can see how beautiful in the architecture it should have been before the war.
So I guess, you're asking why I'm again the one who put a post and Matt is not. Because Mister is scuba diving right now. I was on a boat trip on the Realm National Park. That was beautiful and for lunch we had amazing fish in a fishermen village and trust me, the fish couldn't be more fresh.
I forget to tell u where we are right now. We are in Sihanoukville. It's a city next to the sea, it's really nice, the beach is awesome and the food is gorgeous. We're gonna put on 20 kilos with this trip.
Matt tried spiders. Obviously as you can guess I didn't. He will tell u himself how it was like that he will have to write on the blog.
We're spending a few more days here and we're gonna go to Phnom Phen. And after that we will make our way to Vietnam starting by Ho Chi Minh Ville, even if Matt still calls it Saigon al the time. He is such a colonialist!!!

Nous sommes au Cambodge depuis une semaine. Je sais, on a pas trop mis a jour le blog, mais on remercie toute les personnes qui nous ont envoyes des e-mails et a qui on a pas encore eu le temps de repondre (Farrah, Arvind, Stephanie, je jure que je vais repondre).
Bref, nous avons rejiont notre groupe qui estd e compostion tres international. Le nom de notre guide est Khon. Il a 25 ans et il parle un parfait anglais et il nous a cache qu'il comprenait le francais, petit malin !
Notre groupe est compose de canadiens (Jennifer and Heather, mais elle parlent pas francais, elles sont de Vancouver et de l'Alberta), americain (Mathilde du Connecticut), australiens (Kim et sa maman Barbara, et Lisa de Brisbane et Sydney, mon dieu y'a vraiment des australiens de partout), 2 anglais (Holly et Jason de London et du Kent) et un gars de Belgique mais il parle pas francais (Jo).
Pourquoi les gens ne parlent ti'ils pas plus le francais, c'est un si beau langage.
Enfin bref, le Cambodge est vraiment etonnant et contrate, comme vous pouvez le deviner. Toutes ces annees de guerre ont laisses beaucoup de cicatrices sur le pays et sur les gens.Nous avons visite le musee des mines anti-personnel (je mettrai des photos sur le blog). C'est incroyable. Un jeune garcon qui a perdu sa jambe sur une mine nous a raconte son histoire et c'etait assez emouvant.
Donc je paris que vous vous demandez pourquoi je suis encore celle qui publie un post et pas Matt. Monsieur est en train de faire de la plongee. Moi je reviens d'une croisiere dans le Parc National Realm. C'etait magnifique et pour le dejeuner on a eu du poisson dans un village de pecheurs, croyez moi il pouvait pas faire plus frais.
J'ai oublie de vous dire ou on est. Nous sommes a Sihanoukville, C'est une ville cotiere, c'est tres jolie, avec de superbes plages et de la bouffe geniale. On va prendre au moins 20 kilos avec ce voyage.
Mathieu a essaye les araignees. Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer moi non. Il vous racontera a quoi ca a gout comme ca il sera oblige d'ecrire sur le blog.
