Nearly good bye Vietnam - Bientot au revoir Vietnam

Chào anh,

We arrived in Hanoi by a night train this morning. Yes we did it (twice now from Nha Trang to Hoi An the first time), we slept in a train and we didn't have a shower. Can you believe I did that! And I didn't even complain.
Night train are really good fun and you sleep quite well in fact, apart when vietnameses peole decide to have a party with really loud music in the next compartment to yours, but that's a nother story.

Anyway, we left Hoi An to Hue, which a really interesting city as you've got a the residence of the emperor and the remaining building of the forbidden purple city. I can tell u that these people they knew how to live in style. It's breath taking.
We did as well a boat trip on the Perfume River, which can't keep this name anymore cause it smells anything but perfume.

Today, we 're gonna go to a Water puppet show on the Hanoi's Lake (I know I should remember the name of the Lake but I barely remember how to say hello or thank you so don't expect too much of my vietnamese speaking skills).

We're going to leave Hanoi and Vietnam in a few days and we will go to Australia, so if the aussie that we know have any suggestions on what to do in Perth or AliceSpirngs or Sydney, feels free to post your comments.

Matt just remind me that today, it's Margot's birthday...

Happy Birthday Margot, hope you will have a huge chocolate cake for your birthday (think about me when you will eat a huge piece).

Speak you soon.

Fanny

PS: That was as well the birthday of my niece Charlotte on the 25th of February so I'm sure she will be happy that I put that on the blog. Love you darling!

A tres bientot.

Fanny

Love you darling!

Alice Springs is a hole. Go to Ayers Rock and the Olgas. A flight over both is really well worth it. Climb Ayers Rock, it is great, but take plenty of water.

The Devils Marbles are cool, but nearly 400km away from Alice, so too far as you need to go to Ayers Rock (Uluru).

Enjoy the greatest country in the world.

On Saturday morning February 10th Katy accepted my proposal of marriage on our fifth anniversary. I proposed in front of "A Float" by Hamish Black on Brighton beach.
After proposing, we had our photo taken by a couple celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary, who happened to be passing by.

We were holidaying in Brighton for a week in an apartment near the West Pier to celebrate my two years back in the country.

We celebrated our engagement at Terre a Terre, one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Britain.

We shared the news with Kate's parents in Brighton on Valentines Day, and with my parents on Saturday February 17th once we had arrived home.

The current plans are to have a small family wedding on the beach at Wilsons Prom in late 2008. Kate's parents will fly over for the event. We will then celebrate with friends and family at events in Australia and the UK. We also plan to move to Australia for several years in 2009.

Love and hugs

Andrew and Kate
